New Telephone System
We are pleased to announce that Heathfield Medical Centre will be switching telephone provider to a new telephone system on Friday the 22nd March 2024. This is in line with NHS England's Modernising Access to Primary Care scheme to move all GP Practices to a new Cloud Based Telephony System. There may be some disruption to our service during the transmission on Wednesday, but we are working with the phone system provider to make sure that everything goes smoothly.
The new telephone system will introduce a range of features to help improve patient communications. Some important new features are call recording, call monitoring (we will be able to look at our call queue), patient call back facility (if you would like to retain your position in the queue and be called back).
We are confident that this change will benefit patients, carers, and ease many of the problems experienced with our current system.
Face to Face Appointments
Remote consultations will take place initially with our GPs to minimise risk of infection. Face to face reviews will be arranged if clinically required.
Alternatively, you may want to consider using our online consultation tool e-consult. The system will ask you questions which help us to gather information about your concerns ahead of any consultation. We use this information to ensure that you are directed to the right person if a consultation is needed or your query is resolved quickly if no consultation is needed. You can also use this system to make an administrative query.
Patients have access to book an appointment online, to request repeat medication online and to access medical record online. The online access registration form is available at the reception. Applications must be made in person. Photo ID and proof of address will be required.

Existing patients can enjoy access to our wide range of services at the touch of a button. Whether managing your appointment or ordering a repeat prescription you can now do both without leaving your home.

The Heathfielde medical centre has a tradition of providing support to charitable organisations. We are particularly well placed to be reminded of the good work that many charitable organisations do. You will have seen the items on sale at our reception in support of our local Hospice, the North London Hospice http://www.northlondonhospice.org/.
